Assembleth are a new writing, comedy theatre company based out of Plymouth, UK. Having formed in 2014, the company has gone on to have success at several national and international festivals. We have toured the UK, producing theatre for a local and national stage.
We create shows for all ages, aiming to bring laughter to the heart of the theatre. We use traditional stimuli, from Homer to Shakespeare, to tell stories that are accessible to everyone and can travel anywhere. From village halls and traditional auditoriums to first world war diving platforms, we take our unique and fast paced comedy across the country to bring high quality stories to the centre of the community.
We also run the Plymouth Waterfront Theatre Festival, where artists from across Devon and Cornwall (and sometimes even further!) bring theatre, music, poetry or workshops to the Lion’s Den Swimming Platform on the Hoe Foreshore. A grade II listed building, the Lion’s Den is a beautiful spot overlooking the Sound and is probably the only venue in the country where a lifeguard is present at all times, just in case!
